The new range is currently available in two flavours: Natural Sea Salt and olive Oil & Herb.
“Hint of Salt contains 25% less salt than regular potato crisps, but packs more than just a hint of flavour,” said brand manager at Walkers, Lizzie O’Connell.
“It’s a common misconception that lower fat/salt/sugar means dull in taste and we want to dispel that myth. We’re so confident that shoppers will enjoy the taste of Hint of Salt that we have added the ‘Taste Us. Love Us’ money back guarantee badge to packets, which offer shoppers their money back if they aren’t entirely satisfied with the taste.”
Both flavours have an RRP of £1.65.

Nestlé has expanded its Garden Gourmet range with a plant-based mince product.
The ‘cook from raw’ Incredible Mince is made from a blend of soy, natural plant extracts – beetroot, carrot, and bell pepper – and vegetable fats.
According to the food giant, the mince analogue is easily ‘shapeable’, can be crumbled up in a pan, or can be used to make a plant-based Bolognese sauce.
“This is a really versatile ingredient that is a real winner in many dishes,” said head of Nestlé’s food business, Wayne England. “We will continue to work hard to improve our Garden Gourmet offers and to bring new formats to the market.”
The Garden Gourmet Incredible Mince will be available in September in a number of countries in Europe, including Austria, Germany, Norway and Sweden.

As of 2 September, consumers will be able to buy Manzanilla olives in two flavours: chilli and garlic. The olives are not heat treated, so they remain crisp and flavoursome, and are packaged to retain optimal taste.

Sustainable packaging start-up Notpla has received UK government funding to get its edible, biodegradable ‘Ooho’ capsules on the high street.
The capsules, created through a collaboration with Lucozade Ribena Suntory, are made from seaweed extracts. They can be treated like any other natural food, meaning Oohos can be eaten or disposed of in food waste bins.
With the Innovate UK funding, Notpla hopes to perfect its technology. Its end goal is to create a machine that can manufacture up to 3,000 Oohos a day with sports drinks for sale in gyms and restaurants.
“With government backing, we are excited to see how Oohos can be rolled out and mad more widely available. We are proud to be collaborating with Notpla on this new evolution in manufacturing and we will continue to make positive steps to become as sustainable as possible,” said director of external affairs and sustainability at Lucozade Ribena Suntory, Michelle Norman.
