London-based Cadbury Schweppes plc recently announced strong growth results for Dr Pepper, from its Texas-based division 'Dr Pepper / Seven Up Inc.'. In August Dr Pepper sales volume increased by 2.3 percent, a significant improvement on the carbonated drinks market as a whole. According to ACNielsen channels, which measures sales volume in grocery, drug store and convenience store channels, Dr Pepper is up 2.9 percent whilst Diet Dr pepper is up 9.2 percent, the latter out-performing other diet brands by up to five times. Explaining this strong growth is the fact that Dr Pepper is now on sale in more stores than ever before due to attempts to market the drink as a core brand.
