Andreas Schlapfer, head of Nestle Russia, is to leave to head Nestle France. When he arrived in 1995 Nestle carried just two products in Russia, in contrast this year the operation posted a turnover of some $430 million with market leadership in several product categories, such as chocolate and coffee, The Moscow Times reports. About half of Nestle's sales in Russia are in chocolate and confectionery and the rest are divided between ice cream and instant soups. Schlapfer said the domestic market is not yet fully developed and that the company would invest some $30 million to $50 million in two to three years in the national economy.
