U.S. beverage marketer Tropicana Products Inc. is to use the Internet topromote the new health claim that potassium-rich foods, such as Tropicana PurePremium orange juice, can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, DMNewsreports. A new site at www.tropicanahealthnews.com will play a key role inPepsiCo Inc. division's $10 million campaign to use the health claim recentlyapproved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Approved on October 30 bythe FDA, the Tropicana-submitted claim specifically states that dietscontaining foods that are good sources of potassium and low in sodium canreduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke.
