Franco-German giant Aventis SA (AVEP) is near completetion of its animal nutrition business. The business is to go for around 300 million euros ($268 million). Private equity firms Bain Capital and CVC Capital Partners are the frontrunners to acquire Aventis Animal Nutrition, the world's second largest supplier of feed additives, the sources reported by Reuters said. Officials at all three companies declined to comment. The nutrition business has a 15 per cent share of the $5 billion-a-year additives market and employs about 1,400 people worldwide. It manufactures vitamins, amino acids and other additives at plants in France, Spain, the United States, China, Russia, Australia and Singapore.
