The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and the State Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine have introduced measures designed to prevent foot and mouth disease entering the country and infecting Chinese livestock. The move follows a ban on all British meat and meat products. The measures include a ban on cloven-hoofed animals from France, Argentina, Saudi Arabia and India. All animals and meat products from these animals that have already arrived in China will be destroyed. The ban also applies to meat products of these animals being imported from these countries and any products being brought in will be sealed and then destroyed. Source: Food Chemical News
