Japanese snack food company Terra Harvest Foods is to build a $10 million plant in Melbourne, Australia creating 220 new jobs in the food manufacturing industry, the Victorian Government said this week. Minister for State and Regional Development John Brumby said the Victorian Government had "worked closely" with the company to secure the investment for Victoria. The company is to inititially invest $10 million to establish the plant, creating 220 jobs over the next three years. Brumby commented that there was potential for up to $15 million in further investment by the company over the next five years. The Terra Harvest factory, that will produce rice crackers and rice snacks, is scheduled to be operational by August next year. Source: IndustrySearch
