French herb specialist Darégal announced this week that from July 1 2001 it has taken over the frozen aromatic herbs activity of French food company Gyma. Daregal claims that the acquisition will allow it to strengthen its main activity and to secure its high potential market.The consolidated turnover of the new Company will be close to 400 million French Francs in 2001. Daregal cultivates, processes and markets a range of natural aromatic products for the agro-food industry, the food service and the retail matket. The company processes more than 50.000 tonnes of culinary herbs with more than 65 per cent of its turnover from outside France.
