New World meets Borden Pasta

New World Pasta, a maker and marketer of pasta, said on Monday it has acquired the remaining pasta businesses of the Borden Pasta Group from Borden Foods Corp. for $43.1 million.

New World Pasta, a maker and marketer of pasta, said on Monday it has acquired the remaining pasta businesses of the Borden Pasta Group from Borden Foods Corp. for $43.1 million, which will allow it to cut costs and expand internationally. The purchase includes Borden's remaining pasta brands and its pasta production facilities in the United States, along with its pasta brands and operations in Canada and Italy. The acquisition includes Creamette, Prince and five other pasta brands in the United States, along with manufacturing facilities. Catelli and Lancia pasta brands in Canada and manufacturing facilities. Albadoro and Monder pasta brands and two manufacturing facilities in Italy.New World bought the stock of Borden's U.S., Canadian and Italian pasta subsidiaries for $43.1 million in cash. The businesses acquired generate about $210 million in worldwide sales.
