The American Association of Cereal Chemists (AACC) this week announced the appointment of its 2001/2002 Board of Directors, to be installed on October 18, 2001 The new members include AACC President Barbara Heidolph, a principal with Astaris LLC, (formally Solutia Inc.) where she provides technical assistance for the use of food phosphates, assists in identifying and developing new ingredients and is in process optimization and evaluation. James BeMiller, chair of the Board and Past President, is director of theWhistler Center for Carbohydrate Research and professor of food science at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. AACC President-elect, Brendan J. Donnelly, is head and professor, Departmentof Grain Science and Industry, and director, International Grains Program, Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS. AACC is a worldwide organisation of cereal and food science professionals working in the grain-based foods field and/or studying cereal grains andtheir products.
