Good 'Greif', a new bottle!

US industrial packaging company Greif Bros. said this week a new range of water bottles, manufactured in the United Kingdom, should help spring water producers to more effectively transport filled containers and offer better protection against leakage.

Available through Greif subsidiary, Van Leer Water Bottles, the newly developed round 11 litre bottle features adjusted shoulders and ribs. With the new design, three containers can fit per slot in an industry standard rack, which, the company claims, will allow the transport of 30 per cent more water when compared to similar size bottles.

The bottle features a handle to enable consumers to exchange empty containers for full ones and a new neck design to prevent leakage. The inside of Greif's new neck is smooth and the traditional lip has been removed to combat the spread of bacteria. Dimensions of the new neck remain unchanged.
