US encapsulated products company Balchem Encapsulates has named National Starch and Chemical Company (NSC) as its exclusive sales and marketing arm for its Vitashure wellness ingredient product line to the food and nutritional supplement markets in the Asia Pacific region.

Vitashure is a line of encapsulated wellness ingredients for fortification that use a patented precision release system. Balchem claims that the technology provides manufacturers with the ability to deliver consumer products that are healthier and tastier while extending shelf life stability.

In a statement this week Balchem said that National Starch's extensive network and food/nutritional ingredient experience together with Balchem's wellness product line could provide Asia Pacific customers with solutions that meet their specific product development needs. In addition, the two companies stressed that the new relationship will provide them both with a strong growth platform to support their combined strategic goals of expanding their food and nutrition portfolios globally.

NSC, a subsidiary of chemical giant ICI, is a specialty starch and food ingredient supplier with established sales, marketing and technical personnel throughout the Asia Pacific region.
