Key Technology, the US-based food equipment provider, has launched the new Farmco Precision Size Grader for high-efficiency, accurate sizing.
According to Key Technology, in-plant testing on cut green beans resulted in 95 per cent efficiencies within 1/64" at capacities exceeding 10,000 lbs. per hour. Designed with a small footprint, the unit helps processors conserve valuable floor space and gently conveys products - minimising bruising.
The Farmco grader features a highly-sensitive indicator system that allows for precise, on-the-fly adjustability. Because the last roller is fixed, each of the rollers move backwards as the adjusting handle is turned at an equal distance to create a cumulative effect back to the infeed roller.
A low-maintenance design delivers consistent and accurate sizing throughout the production season and minimizes the need for costly annual rebuilds of rotary drum graders. Typical season-end maintenance on the Precision Size Grader may involve little more than changing bearings and a thorough cleaning, the company claims.
Farmco's time-tested line of mechanical sizing, separating, sorting, and grading equipment is the newest addition to the Key Technology product lines. This system gives the processor more options than ever to fine-tune plant layout and processing methods to be as efficient as possible, the company said.
