Israeli-based soy ingredients company, Solbar Hatzor Ltd., announced this week that Kibbutz Hatzor has bought back ADM Soya Mainz shares in the company. Solbar Hatzor Ltd has also reassumed responsibility for marketing its soy proteins worldwide. In 1990, Kibbutz Hatzor established a strategic partnership with Soya Mainz GmbH, a major European crusher. In 1997, Soya Mainz was acquired by Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), and in 1998 Solbar approved an agreement whereby ADM assumed responsibility for marketing its proteins. As a result of the separation, Solbar intends to fulfill its goals for expanding its capacities and to meet the growing market needs. Solbar Hatzor and SPE (Solbar Plant Extracts) manufacture soy molasses, extracted in a unique process, to make natural soy isoflavones for use in a wide range of concentrations to include dietary supplements, functional foods and cosmetic applications.
