UK-based Food Industry Training - Reading is to organise a seminar on current key issues affecting food safety, particularly in the UK. 'Due diligence underpins everything that the UK food industry does,' said the group this week.
Aimed at people working in manufacturing, retail and enforcement with responsibility for food safety, on the 28 May this year the seminar will provide delegates with the latest information regarding contaminants in food and a review of the current position on various issues including acrylamide, pesticides and emerging pathogens, say the organisers.
Among a range of spokespeople Steve Wearne from the UK Food Standards Agency will provide a paper entitled 'Contaminants - an overview', Professor Don Mottram, School of Food Biosciences, university of Reading will discuss acrylamide and Aynsley Halligan from Nestle UK will take a look at emerging pathogens.
