Cost savings and innovation are just around the corner for food manufacturers interested in working with cucumbers, claims UK company TasteTech.
The company has created a nature identical cucumber flavouring which can be used in a wide range of applications.
Available in a liquid form, TasteTech maintains that this type of flavouring is not only suitable for the 'usual' foods associated with cucumbers, such as dips, sandwiches and yoghurts, but there is plenty of scope for experimentation. Snacks, main meals and desserts all have the potential for a cucumber lift, claims the company.
"Our new cucumber flavourings are providing manufacturers with countless opportunities to create new and exciting foods. While they are doing this, they are able to make significant cost savings, at the same time as being one step ahead of the market," said Roger Sinton, managing director of TasteTech.
Can we expect to see yoghurt with a twist of cucumber in the near future?
