The new European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) is slowly building up its personnel with a new French addition to the communications team.
Former Kellogg employee Anne-Laure Gassin will take up the position of Director of Communications in October this year and will have the undoubtedly challenging task of ensuring EFSA information is transmitted as effectively as possible.
"EFSA's task, in a nutshell, is to play a leading role in renewing EU consumers' confidence in food safety. So, the communications task is a fundamental part of the process,"said EFSA executive director, Geoffrey Podger.
Gassin's most recent post has been at the European Commission, where she had responsibility for preparing the future revision of Community legislation on the nutrition labelling of foodstuffs. Prior to that, she spent over 15 years with Kellogg Company, her last position as director, nutrition affairs - Europe.
