Rising sales channelled through a long-standing relationship with Treatt have opened the way for UK-based Endeavour Speciality Chemicals to step into larger premises.
The 26 body flavours and fragrance company will move to a new 25,000 sq foot facility in Daventry, Northamptonshire where it has 'invested significant resources to design and install abatement equipment' in harmony with Environment Agency requirements.
For the past 10 years Endeavour - a manufacturer of synthetic aromatic chemicals - has linked up with UK fragrance and flavours company Treatt who have distributed their flavours. A relationship which appears to have been fruitful for Endeavour.
"Through Treatt we have experienced real growth over recent years," said Richard Hooper, managing director of Endeavourt.
Adding that the company is optimistic the investment in the new high-tech site 'will facilitate future product developments', eventually pulling in new sales. Sales to the flavour and fragrance industry now constitute over 80 per cent of Endeavour's business - are they looking for more?
In the highly competitive world of flavours and fragrances new product developments born from innovation are crucial to maintain, and build on, sales.
In May this year Treatt described trading for the six months to 31 March 2003 as 'challenging', with profit before tax falling by 24 per cent to £955,000 (€1.3m) compared to £1,255,000 in 2002.
