Leading cocoa and soybean processor ADM is making a few changes in Europe announcing two new appointments at its product support and development (PSD) Centre in Koog aan de Zaan, the Netherlands. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic sweetener giant NutraSweet welcomes back a familiar face.

Leading cocoa and soybean processor ADM is making a few changes in Europe announcing two new appointments at its product support and development (PSD) Centre in Koog aan de Zaan, the Netherlands. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic sweetener giant NutraSweet welcomes back a familiar face.

Hassan Zaki, whose knowledge covers cocoa liquors, butters and powders, will join ADM Cocoa's PSD as group manager. An employee of the agri-business since 1980 Zaki has held a variety of posts, most recently as manager for product support and development in Germany, France and the Netherlands.

As combined PSD and R&D group manager, Zaki will help to coordinate technical activities and projects.

Esther Lemmen, a specialist in dairy products, sensory evaluation and product development, is ADM Cocoa's latest PSD team member, and a graduate in product and process development (bakery and dairy) from Den Bosch college in the Netherlands.

Turning to sweeteners and the US company NutraSweet, Ihab E. Bishay - director of sweetener product development at the company from 1991-2000 - will become senior vice president of research & development. Bishay rejoins the Chicago based company following three years as senior manager of ingredient technology at the soft drinks giant Pepsi Cola Co.
