The company says that the extension to its Zaporozhye facilities should enable it to double production output, from around 3,600 tons a month to nearly 8,000 tons a month.
The company said that it had now started production taking in the newly extended line. The facility will produce margarine for industrial processing and for the 'Olli light butter' brand.
The company said that as a result of the increase in production, it is also expecting to expand its market share in the Ukrainian margarine sector by up to 50 per cent. It also expects to command approximately 25 per cent of the fats and oils market in the Ukraine.
The company said that to undertake the extension of the facility it had purchased equipment from De Smet of Belgium, for oil and fat refining, and Schroeder of Germany for margarine production.
The company added that the total cost for the extension would remain confidential.
The Ukrainian market for fats and oils currently includes some 31 enterprises producing margarine products. Together these enterprises manufacture 160,000 tons of margarine per year.
