Certified solutions

Sterilox Technologies' A-2000 sterilisation and disinfection
generator has received food equipment safety certification from
public health body NSF International. This certification is granted
to food equipment and devices used in storing, preparing or
handling food and beverages that meet criteria laid down by the
American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

The A-2000 is the first model in Sterilox's compact line of generators designed specifically for the food industry. It is only 2 feet wide and less than 3 feet deep and fits under most sinks, which the company claims will save valuable floor space. Using patented electrolytic technology, the generator produces a safe, fast and effective non-toxic biocide solution on-site, which works against a wide range of bacterial and viral pathogens and organisms that present major safety and health challenges in food retail and service industries.

The registered NSF certification mark on a food equipment product confirms that NSF has assessed - and certified - its conformity with the relevant ANSI standard. As part of the certification process, the production facility is audited annually. The purpose of this audit is to assure that all the requirements of the standard continue to be met, quality assurance and quality control procedures are followed in fabrication, products are sampled and retested on schedule, and labelling and product literature are true and accurate.

"NSF certification is the gold standard in the food industry, and we are proud that the A-2000 has met the high standards from the world leader in product certification for public health and safety," said Sterilox Technologies' chief executive David Anderson. "The NSF Mark will give purchasers in the food industry full confidence in our product's safety."

Sterilox manufactures a range of solutions that can be used in a variety of food retail and service uses. These liquids are designed to reduce spoilage in fruits, vegetables and seafood by killing bacteria and viral pathogens. In addition, Sterilox produces hard surface sanitisers for counter tops, slicers, cutting boards and utensils. This particular product can also be used in produce misting systems and ice machines to remove bio-films associated with harmful bacteria, such as the organism that causes Legionnaires' disease.

Sterilox Technologies is a leading developer and marketer of sterilisation and disinfection generators and solutions. The company's products have been determined suitable for food processing applications by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and have passed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) surface sanitiser testing requirements.
