Synergy launches Thai-inspired pastes

The popularity of Thai foods has led Synergy to develop and range of clean-label pastes for the food manufacturing industry.

The pastes are produced using 100 per cent natural ingredients, which are slow cooked and continuously stirred to maximise flavour. They are available in four varieties: cod and shrimp, sweet chilli, red Thai and green Thai.

Synergy says that the pastes can be used to create an “authentic, intense” flavour profile to a variety of manufactured food products, including ready meals, ethnic breads and pastries, soups, sauces and dressings.

Donna Rose, Synergy’s customer marketing manager, told FoodNavigator.com that the Thai pastes were developed in response to increasing European demand for Thai food.

“Synergy’s global presence and market insights enable us to monitor and track trends. In Western markets, demand for authentic Thai foods is increasing and this cuisine is becoming more mainstream,” she said.

The company was also inspired by its technical centre in Thailand, which provided the regional knowledge needed to create authentic flavours.

Synergy is confident that the pastes’ distinctive, deep rounded flavour and clean label declaration will set them aside from the competition.

“With all the essential ingredients combined in one easy to pour package, our customers also benefit from lower processing, picking and stockholding costs,” said Rose. “The pastes aseptic packaging means unopened they have a 3 - 6 months shelf life in ambient storage.”

The Thai pastes are the latest addition to Synergy’s cuisine paste range, which also includes Mexican, Mediterranean, BBQ, Indian and other Far Eastern profiles.
