The 15th instalment of Vitafoods Europe kicks off in Geneva on May 22 with portfolio director Chris Lee excited about a peer-review education programme featuring the father of nutraceuticals and an expo that will outsize all previous editions.

“In celebration of these 15 years we are actually staging the biggest event to date in terms of mass and visitors that will come along,” Lee said.

“We’ve got a very jam-packed agenda which has been shaped and peer-reviewed this year for the first time by a new executive advisory board so with that we are going to deliver 40 conference presentations.”

Speakers include Dr Stephen deFelice - the man that came up with the term nutraceuticals - with other topics including consumer trends, global market performance, health claims, clinical trials, brain health, food allergies, bone health and digestive health.

New structures

“There was a lot more structure to it this year and I think that is ultimately going to deliver benefits for the delegates,” he relayed, noting the process had also prompted interactive scientific poster sessions for the first time.
