Mocon showcases oxygen permeability equipment

Mocon marketing manager Guy Wray talked FoodProductionDaily editor Rod Addy through the latest upgrades to its oxygen permeability testers at Pack Expo 2012 in Chicago.

The company announced three new accessories for its OpTech oxygen test system for food and pharmaceutical applications at the trade show.

The upgrades include a portability kit to enable mobile testing away from the lab; new kit to test packages with very little headspace — such as blisters and  food packages.

A third launch was the new ImPULSE sensor, which has been engineered to work with opaque materials as well as with retort applications.

Wray also explains that Mocon is offering the ability to increase throughput of oxygen testing for rigid packages via a new RACK-6 conditioning system, which has been developed for use with the company's OX-TRAN Model 2/61.
