Pro Mach acquires KLEENLine and targets integration potential

Pro Mach has acquired KLEENLine Corporation to expand its sanitary production solutions for the food industry and said it will offer integration opportunities with their other brands.

The US firm, who did not disclose the price of the deal, said it would add to their product portfolio covering primary and end of line packaging.

KLEENLine designs and manufactures food grade, stainless steel product handling equipment for clean environment processing and packaging.

The firm is based in Newburyport, Massachusetts, where it operates a design, manufacturing, and testing facility.

KLEENLine will join Pro Mach's newly formed Material Handling Business Unit, which includes Shuttleworth, based in Huntington, Indiana.

Product development

Mark Anderson, Pro Mach president and CEO, said they will continue to grow the business through areas such as product development.

“In the past few years through acquisition and new product development we have significantly strengthened our product portfolio in sanitary solutions for processing, primary packaging, and end of line packaging.

“With KLEENLine, we have an excellent opportunity to offer customers integrated solutions with many of our primary and end of line packaging brands, as well as provide an increasing number of solutions in sanitary product handling and integrated systems.”

KLEENLine’s leadership team, including founder Jim Laverdiere, will remain with Pro Mach and continue out of the facility in Newburyport, Massachusetts.

The company is a builder and systems engineering provider for sanitary robotic solutions, vision and turnkey integrated systems for direct touch food product handling and cleanroom packaging.

KLEENLine view

Laverdiere said: “Pro Mach has a strong reputation for investing in its brands and we will continue to strengthen the KLEENLine name and offer growth opportunities for our employees.

“Like KLEENLine, Pro Mach also leads with outstanding customer service and I look forward to working with our customers to help them achieve greater value from their packaging investments.

“Together we are a single source for a wide range of high quality, complementary solutions, and integrated products across the entire packaging line.”

In August this year Pro Mach acquired Federal Manufacturing, a designer and manufacturer of liquid filling and capping machinery, to expand its Primary Packaging portfolio.
