Xylem gets EU backing for water innovation

EIB supports Xylem with €120m loan
Xylem has received a €120m loan for research, development and innovation activities in the water industry.

Xylem, which works in the food and beverage processing sectors, was granted the loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The R&D project will concentrate on water and wastewater treatment solutions; flow control equipment; analytical instruments; and water applications and pump systems for residential, commercial and industrial uses.

The activities financed by the loan will focus on developing innovative and sustainable products and services for biological water treatment, desalination, filtration and disinfection and improving the control of such processes.

It will be carried out at the company’s R&D centres primarily in Sweden but also in Germany, Italy, the UK, Austria, Norway and Hungary.
