The new marinades include a ‘masala’ variety that combines the taste of tomatoes with Indian spices; and a ‘levant’ variety inspired by falafel, with garlic, parsley, onions and cumin. The Masala marinade adjusts Indian spices to the European palate, the company said, with tomato, pepper, cardamom, ginger and coconut.
“Both marinades are suitable for use with poultry, pork and fish, with the Levant option also being particularly good with lamb. Each delivers an appealing color and brightness and, as well as being free from monosodium glutamate, the new marinades contain no hydrogenated fat,” the company said.
Salad dressings
Frutarom has also introduced a ‘universal’ dressing, which it says can be used as a base for all kinds of salad dressings, with vinegar and onion flavours. Meanwhile, its new ‘herb’ dressing contains dill, parsley and chives, and visible onion pieces.
The company said that either dressing can be prepared by mixing the compound with water and oil, but customers can also use yoghurt or fresh cheese instead of oil and customise the dressings with their own added ingredients.
