The patch can be hidden inside packaging and claims to solve the problem of food smelling off from organic vapors when the pack is opened.
Simon Balderson, managing director, Sirane, said good food can be rejected by consumers if it smells, even if the food is perfectly okay.
“It is simply the odor build-up. This product traps all the odors from within the pack, meaning when the customer opens it up it smells as fresh as when it was packed,” he added.
The odor-absorbing patch can be integrated with any type of packaging; pads, bags, films or cartons/trays and is available in a number of formats.
