A H.J. Heinz company has recalled spaghetti in tomato sauce because of a packaging defect which may cause the inside tin layer to fail and affect the food.

New Zealand-based Wattie’s said the 300g can is manufactured in the region and sold in retail outlets throughout the country but affected product has not been distributed.

The product batch code is identified by characters on the base of the can. The first seven digits read FJH0814.

Wattie’s said consumers are advised to check the batch information located on the base of the can and not to consume the product.

It does not affect any other Wattie’s Canned Spaghetti in Tomato Sauce products.
