Sterigenics receives accreditation in Mexico

Sterigenics International has received ISO/IEC 17025:2005 food and chemistry accreditation in Mexico.

ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation signifies that the SteriPro laboratory can carry out the necessary microbiological and chemical tests consistent with standards necessary to meet customer needs.

The accreditation builds on BSI Certifications for ISO/IEC 9001:2008, ISO 13845: 2003 and EN ISO 13485:2012.

Sterigenics offers gamma, electron beam, and ethylene oxide fumigation technologies and advises on the most appropriate technology and processing parameters for food products and packaging based on regulations around the world.

Philip Macnabb, president and COO of Sterigenics International, said: “Mexico is a key Sterigenics region with Gamma sterilization operations in Hidalgo and Ethylene Oxide sterilization operations in Mexico City.

“This accreditation at our SteriPro Laboratories in Mexico City recognizes our ability to provide the necessary testing capabilities and knowledge to accompany our world class processing facilities.”
