FoodQualityNews is to host a roundtable debate today on the challenges, impacts and actions to tackle foodborne outbreaks.

Join us as with experts from the European Association for Food Safety, SAFE consortium, EFSA, FDA and University of Wisconsin-River Falls we try and answer the question: What’s the best way to minimize risk of exposure from foodborne illness outbreaks?

The event, at 9:30am New York time, 3:30pm Paris time, will last for one hour and through the platform you will have the opportunity, and be encouraged, to ask our panellists questions.

Purnendu C. Vasavada, professor emeritus of Food Science at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and Kathleen F. Gensheimer, chief medical officer, director Coordinated Outbreak Response and Evaluation (CORE) FDA/Office of Foods and Veterinary Medicine will form half of the panel.

The other experts are Dr Frank Boelaert senior officer, Biological Hazards and Contaminants Unit at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and Dr Katherine Flynn, scientific secretary at The European Association for Food Safety, SAFE consortium.
