Deals will position us well for growth - VWR

VWR has acquired Integra Companies and STI Components adding that they are complementary to current services offered to the food industry.

The provider of laboratory products and services said the deals will expand its product offerings to the life science and biopharmaceutical industries.

The cost of the deal was not disclosed.

VWR offers products for microbiological control, from sample preparation to final identification of microorganisms, food and beverage testing and laboratory equipment.

Single-use system expertise

Valerie C. Collado, director, corporate communications at VWR, told FoodQualityNews.com that both companies will bring single use connectivity products including tubing, hoses and gaskets for high-purity environments to its portfolio.

“These businesses bring additional capability and products to our customers in food manufacturing environments in addition to the broad portfolio of production testing and QC laboratory products already offered by VWR,” she said.

“We feel that by acquiring these two companies we will be well-positioned for growth particularly in the bio-processing space given their expertise with single-use systems.”

When asked about how the companies will be integrated, including factories and staff, she said: “We are happy to welcome the associates of Integra Companies and STI Components to VWR and look forward to leveraging their knowledge of these products to better support our customers.”
