US conveyor belt firm eyes UK market

US-based conveyor belt manufacturer Cambridge Engineering Solutions has announced plans to extend its sales operations to the UK in an “important step in [its] global growth plan”.

Cambridge has appointed Kevin O’Brien, owner of British company, Conveyor Belt Engineering, as it’s UK and Ireland sales representative.

“We are pleased to welcome Kevin to our growing international team,” said Tracy Tyler, president and CEO of Cambridge. “His vast knowledge of conveyor system operations and industry practices coupled with his trusted network, will deliver tremendous value to OEMs and food processing companies throughout the UK and Ireland.”

O’Brien said of his appointment: “I have long admired Cambridge’s manufacturing innovations. Their commitment to continuous process improvement and deep understanding of total cost of ownership are well-known in food production and industrial manufacturing,” he said. “While Cambridge metal conveyor belts have been available through select OEMs and direct sales, this is the first time UK- and Ireland-based companies will have a full-time, dedicated agent available 24-7.”

The move is the first time Cambridge will have a base in the UK and Mike Truitt, Cambridge international sales director, said it had been a strong market for the company.

“What sets us apart from others doing business in the region is our unique ability to now deliver superior products and custom service with someone like Kevin’s unmatched expertise,” Truitt concluded.
