TÜV SÜD has expanded its certification services in the Czech Republic after passing an accreditation process.

The foreign legal entity of TÜV SÜD Czech is now authorised to carry out certification in accordance with International Food Standard (IFS).

Transparent supply chains and safe food products pose an equal challenge to consumers, retailers and industry, said the firm.

Dr Ron Wacker, head of food, health and beauty at TÜV SÜD, said an effective food safety management system is imperative to meet all requirements.

“By having achieved accreditation for the IFS standard in our legal entity in the Czech Republic, we are further expanding our expertise in this area.”

IFS, developed in 2002, creates a consistent evaluation system for companies supplying retailer branded food products with formulations, audit procedures and mutual acceptance of them to create transparency in the supply chain.

TÜV SÜD specialises in testing, inspection, auditing, certification, training and knowledge services.
