Vion to focus on Bad Bramstedt site
Vion, the Dutch food company, is to concentrate its North German cattle slaughtering at its production location in Bad Bramstedt.
The site, which has had more than € 1.5 million invested in the technical facilities, has a processing capacity of more than 3,000 animals per week.
This will mean the closure of its smaller production facility in Anklam on 30 September this year.
The Vion cutting facility at the Frankfurt am Main slaughterhouse is also due to close on 30 September 2015.
Customers in central Germany, butchers and retail will be supplied from the Vion sites in Hilden and Crailsheim.
In 2013, Vion Food reported a turnover of €7 billion.
