McCain Foods USA is recalling more than 25 thousand pounds of bacon fritters possibly contaminated with plastic after a consumer compliant.

The firm then notified an in-plant FSIS inspector, said the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS).

Potato, egg, cheese, and bacon fritters were produced on November 11, 2015.

A total of 1,681 cases with batch code 1001487402 containing four 3.75-lb. plastic vacuum-packed packages of “McCain EARLY RISERS Potato, Egg, Cheese & Bacon Fritters” are affected.

They were shipped to food service distributors in Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Oklahoma, Ohio, Texas, Tennessee, and Utah.

There have been no confirmed adverse reactions due to the products and FSIS has not received additional reports of injury or illness from eating them.
