Eurofins Food Safety Systems (EFSS) has partnered with a university to provide co-branded public training for the Canadian food manufacturing industry.

The courses include the FSMA Preventive Controls Qualified Individual Training and GFSI benchmarked standard training to SQF and BRC.

The first course offering, the FSMA Preventive Controls course for Human Food, will be held June 27-29 at McGill University’s Macdonald Campus.

Lawrence Goodridge, director of the FSQP at McGill, said by teaming together they can combine expertise to deliver an educational program to food producers in Canada.

"The new partnership with Eurofins Food Safety Systems represents a further step in the development of the Food Safety and Quality Program as we realize our mission to provide food safety training and information to the Canadian Food Manufacturing Industry.”

The Food Safety and Quality Program was established in 2011 to train students, perform research, and educate industry on emerging food safety trends and approaches.

Gary Smith, director of food safety systems for Eurofins, said: "We believe this partnership is a perfect fit for Canadian food manufacturers that need to develop a comprehensive food safety plan."
