The manufacturer of automated microbiological systems said it is for microbiologists making multiple dilutions.
ProDilute features automatic dilution of diluent based on the weight of the sample and dilutions (1 to 1/100) of blended food and environmental samples can be processed.
The dilutions are dispensed using ‘Plug and Play’ flexible pumps, which can be added to allow up to four different diluents to be dispensed.
Kate George, senior divisional manager at Synbiosis, said busy food testing labs often require a precise, high capacity and contamination free system for diluting samples.
“Since the diluter is compatible with our new ProBlend, this integrated technology is ideal for microbiologists looking for a safe method of improving their accuracy and throughput when processing multiple food samples for microbial testing.”
Synbiosis has also launched a manual colony counter with automatic count recording for budget-conscious microbiology laboratories.
The aCOLade 2 colony counter has dish adaptors that can be altered to hold 50mm or 90mm diameter plates and an LED light pad with pressure controlled back plate.
Microbiologists touch the Petri dish’s lid with a felt tipped pen to count a colony, an audible bleep occurs and data is automatically added and displayed on the digital counter.
“Many food or environmental testing labs want an inexpensive manual colony counter that is simple to use, flexible enough to read large and small plates and allows their results to be easily recorded,” added George.
