An institute at the University of Connecticut has partnered with Anton Paar.

The Institute of Materials Science has loaned a rheometer, the MCR 702 TwinDrive rheometer, to the lab of Dr Anson Ma due to his rheology expertise and reputation in the field.

Anton Paar’s MCR 702 TwinDrive combines two torque transducers and drive units in a modular setup.

It comes with accessories that allow the user to configure the instrument to study the flow behavior and structure of various fluids while controlling the test environment.

Dr Norbert Ponweiser, director of sales and marketing, rheology, said it was an opportunity to gain feedback on the uses and effectiveness of its newest rheometer.

Through the partnership, UConn and Anton Paar aim to develop next-generation rheometers and to help other potential industrial and academic users.

UConn is the first university that Anton Paar has signed such a partnership agreement with.

As well as the five-year loan of the rheometer, Anton Paar is sponsoring two fellowships.
