Nestlé Health Science founding chief retires after 40 years

Luis Cantarell, who headed up €500m+ food-pharma crossover research centre Nestlé Health Science when it launched in 2010, is retiring after 40 years at the Swiss food giant.

The Spaniard will end his current position as executive vice president and head of Europe, Middle East and North Africa at the end of the year and be replaced by Marco Settembri, the Italian EVP and head of Nestlé Waters.

Maurizio Patarnello, market head of Nestlé Russia and Eurasia will become deputy executive VP and head of Nestlé Waters from 1 January.

Nestlé said it was changing its Nestlé Food Professional food service management structure from global to regional “due to increasing demand for more customised products and services on a local and regional basis often linked with developments in the in-home business.”
