ASL, one of the largest environment testing service providers in the domestic market, serves consulting and industrial companies across Brazil.
The company employs about 150 staff and expects to generate revenues in excess of BRL 25m in 2016.
Dr Gilles Martin, Eurofins CEO, said the deal follows the acquisition of Anatech in 2014.
“This transaction reinforces our local footprint and complements our leading position in the domestic food testing market.
“In return, ASL will have access to the group’s entire portfolio of competencies, logistics and clients, which should allow it to further expand market share.”
IOC-approved testing
Meanwhile, Eurofins Central Analytical Laboratories has got International Olive Council (IOC) accreditation.
It is the first independent contract lab in the US to earn the accreditation.
Previously, domestic olive producers had to send samples abroad for authentication.
IOC awards accreditation to chemical testing labs that follow recommended methods of analysis for purity, quality, grade and contaminants in olive oil.
John Reuther, president of Eurofins Central Analytical Laboratories, said: “This recognition not only enables us to meet the growing demands for an accredited olive oil testing facility in the US, it demonstrates Eurofins’ continued effort to provide a strategic yet comprehensive range of food testing services.”
