Lampados International launches 3D stevia sweetner

Lampados International’s 3D sweetener for hot drinks, Liteez, has now been launched with stevia instead of sucralose.

The “free-from” meringue kiss sweetner addresses the growing demand for sugar reduction in beverages and comes in a variety of flavors including vanilla and Irish cream.

Liteez partnered with Practical Innovation, in Israel, to develop the product to create a sweetener with a ‘new look and feel’, in 3D.

The patent-pending vegan sweet is a plant-based snack, free from allergens such as eggs, gluten, lactose, or nuts, and contains six ingredients.

Noam Kaplan, CEO, Lampados, said while the Liteez sweetener delivery system can be formulated with different types of sweeteners, using stevia posed a challenge since the acidity and isoelectric point of the mixture changes completely relative to using other high-intensity sweeteners, such as sucralose.

"Regular sweeteners use certain kinds of sugars such as bulking agents Dextrose or Polyols such as Erythritol. We use vegetable protein and fibers as bulking agents,” said Kaplan.

"Many 3D products today are trendy and fun. You can actually touch your food - this is the third dimension that was missing in our eating experience.

Lampados was founded in 1975 and specializes in tabletop sweeteners and health products such as sugar-free syrups.
