Handtmann opens €7m customer service centre

Meat product manufacturers can devise and test bespoke solutions to processing issues and train on the latest equipment at a €7m customer service centre just opened by Handtmann at its German headquarters.

The site at Biberach an der Riss is the second of its kind built at the location, covering an area of more than 4,000m2, and houses the newest equipment for meat production, plant baking and food production. All machines are approved by the EU in accordance with current food legislation.

Announcing the launch of the new centre, Handtmann said: “Technology centres with production halls map the entire production process. Here, customers have the opportunity to work with Handtmann specialists to test the production of their products or product ideas using the latest machine technology.

‘Modern equipment’

The centres offered the capability to work closely with various supply chain partners, including ingredients and recipe suppliers and packaging firms. Conference and training suites furnished with the latest media technology were also available on site, Handtmann said.

The new training rooms feature modern equipment which encourages efficient learning ... Technical infrastructure with suitable floorings and connections allow for flexible theoretical and practical training in one room. Effective training is thus facilitated. The latest media options, such as videos and animation, are integrated into the training modules where appropriate.
