Women-only meat snack lands in Poland

Feeling guilty about that extra piece of cake? Don’t. A polish meat processor has launched a “no remorse” meat snack targeted exclusively at women.

Polish meat company ZM Henryk Kania has brought out two low-calorie meat treats, a protein bar and a chicken kabanos, aimed at capturing the fortunes of the food on-the-go market.

With a combination of high protein, low salt, low carbs and no nasty chemicals like monosodium phosphate and monosodium glutamate, the Polish outfit said it believed the Henryk Kania Maestro range would be a welcome product on the market.

Women-only ‘promising market segment’

The snack trend is very clear and, in our opinion, it is a promising market segment,” said Dominika Rąba, vice-president of ZM Henryk Kania.

Therefore, we will develop to go products [that are] tasty, nutritious and in small weights. Based on the current sales results we can see that the products of this type, which we already have in the portfolio, are very popular with customers.

We want to show that eating cured meats can go well beyond the years of eating contexts. In this direction the whole market goes with the rest. Every year in the meat industry, there are more and more functional products that are recognised in the eyes of customers. In our opinion, this trend will deepen.

According to the company’s own research, one in five Poles eats food on-to-go at least once a week. And the busy lives of the county’s citizens appears to be rising too, with data suggesting 65% of people admit they do not have enough time to prepare meals at home.
