Mérieux NutriSciences has acquired a majority stake in a digital technology specialist saying the sector has become a ‘key focus’.

TraQ’food is a French start-up commercializing a digital application for restaurants and food service to manage HACCP and their hygiene and sanitary control plan.

For any type and size of business the application offers label traceability, goods inspection or temperature reading sensors allowing documentation to be digitalized and supply management automated.

Tracking labels are printed on an Epson Bluetooth labeller with a Samsung tablet and JRI temperature sensors.

This ideal partnership brings together the technical and scientific know-how of a recognized industry leader in food safety and a start-up provider of software solutions,” said Rudy Hattab, founder of traQ’food.

The Digital Solutions portfolio includes QualMap, EnviroMap and myMXNS.

It was created last year to give value to data, beyond analytical or audit results by helping to prevent quality issues and to protect businesses and consumers health.

Philippe Sans, president and CEO of Mérieux NutriSciences, said: “With this investment in traQ’food, we are expanding our digital offer to help our clients increase their efficiency by giving meaning to their data.Digital technology significantly transformed our professions and has become a key focus for us.”
