Among those exhibiting at Anuga Foodtec are: NTF Aalborg, which is introducing an online tool to enable easy creation of hygienic and easy-to-clean machine guards for the food industry; Jeros, which is launching an industrial cleaning system that enables food manufacturers to reduce washdown time by more than 80% and optimise production time; and Videometer, which is presenting a measurement system to ensure food integrity and avoid recall costs.
Jens Michael Carstensen, CTO at Videometer, said: “With the increase in food fraud, a heightened awareness of food integrity emphasises the importance for food manufacturers to control and document food safety, quality and authenticity.
“Using our VideometerLab technology, food manufacturers are able to measure all three factors of food integrity and thereby avoid major recall costs and minimise consumer risks.”
The spectral imaging technology of VideometerLab has been continuously developed since 2000, but with a recent evaluation by the Government Chemist laboratory (LGC) in the UK, Videometer can now show evidence that the solution has the potential to augment and replace multiple current tests with a single versatile system.
“LGC has concluded that VideometerLab is a very flexible technology because it combines different techniques allowing food manufacturers to measure colour, texture, chemical composition, contamination, form and sizes all at once,” added Carstensen.
