After almost 55 years of market dominance Nutella looks like it has a rival for its chocolate hazelnut spread.
Luxury Swiss chocolatier Lindt has released a 'hazelnut cream', which is now available on its website and in Lindt stores.
Lindt's spread, which retails at £5.99 ($7.92) is made from 40% hazelnut, compared to 13% in Nutella. The spread has been available in other European countries for some time and has now arrived in the UK, delighting fans on Instagram.
"The use of real LINDT chocolate combined with hazelnut enables you to create a delightful dessert or snack with a full and intense flavour. The preparation method that has been fine-tuned by the Lindt MaÎtres Chocolatiers to give rise a perfectly smooth mixture which retains the full chocolate aroma," said a Lindt in a statement
At the time of writing Lindt’s hazelnut cream was already out of stock online, but had been spotted at a Lindt store in Liverpool.
