FrieslandCampina Ingredients DMV has revealed an ‘ultra-clean’ whey protein isolate hoped to power innovation in the soaring protein waters and clear drinks market.

The new Nutri Whey Isolate - made from neutral tasting Gouda cheese whey – is claimed to offer a pure, clean-tasting, nutritional protein appropriate for use in drinks, medical nutrition, cold brew coffee, ice cream, dairy desserts, ketogenic products and more.

Diderik Moerdijk, marketing segment manager for the dairy protein specialist’s performance nutrition division, said this isolate will appeal to the growing number of mainstream consumers who desire natural and convenient products.  

“The market conditions are ripe for the introduction of Nutri Whey Isolate,” he said.

Growth prospects for the performance and health nutrition sector are huge, and one of the trends shaping this space is ‘mainstreaming’, as an increasingly large cross-section of the population seeks out products that support their active and healthy lifestyle aspirations.
