The World Steak Challenge is back for 2019. The celebration of steak from around the globe is returning for its fifth year and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Last year’s World Steak Challenge saw a record number of entries from 22 different countries, with JN Meat International winning the top prize of World’s Best Steak for a grass-fed Ayrshire sirloin steak that was produced in Finland. JN Meat International founder John Sashi-Nielsen said winning the competition was a “very proud moment” for the business – and for Finland.

Chair of the judges for 2018 Alan Franck said the winning steak was “generous in marbling, very tender with a good balance and an intense flavour”.

The World Steak Challenge 2018 was held at The Magic Roundabout in London, and saw 45 Gold Medals, 37 Silver Medals and 54 Bronze Medals awarded on the night. Other major winners included ABP Poland who won the Best Fillet category and OSI International from Germany who won Best Grain-Fed category for its Rib Eye Angus.

We’ll be revealing more details on this year’s World Steak Challenge very soon, but if you’re interested in entering, you can register your interest at this link.
