Haloodies secures listing at Iceland for halal beef burger lines
Available from 18 February 2019, the frozen halal burgers, which are made from grass-fed Irish beef, will be rolled out into a number of Iceland’s national stores.
Haloodies will launch two variants of the product into the supermarket chain, including its two-pack of quarter pounder burgers and six-pack of 2oz burgers.
According to the brand, the burgers are fully traceable and halal-certified with BRC AA+ and IFS certification, ensuring the products are safe to consume and meet regulations.
Iceland will now become the second major UK retailer to stock the frozen halal burgers following the launch of the lines in September 2018, with Morrisons being the other stockist.
Haloodies said it was thrilled to have a presence in yet another “well-known” supermarket.
“At Haloodies we are constantly looking for ways to encourage more people to enjoy halal products and provide more supermarket listings, so everyone has better choices when it comes to eating halal,” said Haloodies CEO Noman Khawaja.
“We hope that this burger range will not only encourage Muslims to try our products, but other consumers too.”
Also commenting on the listing, Iceland’s buyer Ben Gledhill said the chain was keen to provide products that met the needs of all of its customers.
“We feel the Haloodies brand is well known amongst the community and it’s great to have them listed with us,” said Gledhill. “These frozen burgers are tasty and high-quality. I'm sure our customers will love them, especially with burger season around the corner.”
Haloodies offers other halal-only products across its portfolio, such as on-the-go cooked chicken, as well as fresh lamb.
